September 16th – September 22nd -$6,103.10

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hat a disaster the last few days have been. Saturday afternoon I was sitting on $3,000 profit and feeling pretty good to be in the black, a few days later and it’s looking terrible again. Still not a huge amount of turnover right now, so any bad swings will result in ugly figures and that’s what happened this week. It’s been a big week away from the betting, with my first proper affiliate deal on the site and also letting you know about the Smartbet app I am working on. So let’s talk about them first.

It seems we all love to be lazy, but also know that keeping a record of our bets is important. I had a great response to the product and am this week talking to two separate bookies who contacted me after my post. I feel one of them will make a good partner as our philosophies align well. I did do a bit of research beforehand, but really thought the product would be met with more “meh” like attitudes. Good to know it’s something people really want.

Onto the Madbookie affiliate deal. I’ve been told they will extend the offer till the end of this month. So you still have time to get a 120% bonus to $1,200 if you sign up via this link. You can read all about it on last weeks blog post. I actually expected more people to complain, but only had about 5 people on twitter call me (insert bad name) for doing it, luckily that was outweighed by the triple digit sign ups that managed to take a huge sum from Madbookie over the weekend. Initially I was going to go on a classic Steve rant about how dumb these complainers were, but then I though “I don’t care what they think” and just banned the ones that were rude. I’ll now be able to see how well my readership do, and be able to talk more about the affiliate system that bookmakers use. Brett from Madbookie will also do a Q&A on the blog, so if you have any questions you want to ask about Madbookie or about running a bookmaker, just let me know. A number of you were clearly only there for the bonus and bet the $1,200 on West Ham at odds of $12. West ham won and that resulted in a big loss for Madbookie, but also very annoying for those matched bettors, as they now have some turnover to do. It will be very interesting to see if I end up making any profit from the deal, and as always I will let you know how it goes.

Today Tonight are working on a story at the moment and they are looking for anyone who started betting after they saw all the advertising on TV. They are looking for younger readers and if you would like to share your story and be on television, you can contact Ashleigh Sculley (via email) or on twitter @AshleighSculley.

Onto the weeks results and only the two AFL line bets which resulted in $1,550 profit. NRL only had the 1 bet and that resulted in $800 profit. MLB was all over the place this week and the last two days took back all the profit made. A loss of $4,600 and I can’t wait for this model to regain its former glory. I have not started betting NFL, but the Sportpunter model is going nuts, I still believe it is better to wait until a few rounds in. Golf lost $400 and my own Personal betting lost $3,900.

Dailyprofit members once again broke even this week if following all SP models. After this week we will see a heap of member cancel until next seasons footy starts again. I am set to introduce a new pricing structure in the coming weeks and allow members to only follow the sports they want to. As always, that means prices will be going up once again.

The first poor week for September and it really has not been a good first quarter to year 6. It feels like I have been treading water for the last year now. I feel I am due one of those 4-6 month spikes, sadly it’s not as easy as just asking for it, but also there is no harm in asking :). So please please can I now go on an incredible upwards swing. K thanks.

Total Loss for the week was $6,103.10
