That was another big week on the blog. More records broken as we hit 2,000 unique visitors in a day. Great to see so many people are actually reading stuff that will hopefully help with their betting. Tomorrow we will have another article about the maths behind Tom Waterhouses offer for the Melbourne cup. Two readers took the time to explain the maths behind it, so I will try and merge both documents they sent me into one super blog post. I thought by asking others to write for the blog that it would give me back some time, I guess not.
Last week I said I would never miss another golf bet, umm yeah, well…. new dad and all. I managed to get most of them inplay before they teed off. They all lost. I didn’t think having Ollie home was that much of a disturbance or that my sleep patterns had been affected. Once again I was wrong. On Saturday nights, about 2 hours before the games I see if there are any bets in the correct odds range and bet them, then I usually come back 15 minutes before the games start and go through the remaining games to see if the odds have improved. This Saturday after placing the initial bets, I sat down and watched the early game and woke up an hour after all games had finished, luckily most games hadn’t come in and would never have been a bet and the ones that did lost. So I saved a little. A Saturday afternoon nap will be something that will be added to my routine. I also noticed a lot less odds movement when Mike (Winabobatoo) released this week. I’m guessing it’s because a few members have left after a poor start and the fact that UK members can no longer bet at Pinnacle, whatever the reason, it is a good sign. Now for the service to start winning.
This week was a return to form for Sportpunter. NBL made $6,500, NFL $4,900 and NHL $1,800. Even in the AFL off season, I’m relying on SP to keep me afloat. That means everything else lost.
Well not ClubGowi, with $2,900 profit. I also enjoyed the in play notes on the Japanese games. As I was at the computer I could take advantage of them and I did stake pretty low, but they did seem pretty good. Diamond Edge had the 1 bet for a $450 profit, but PCG continues to keep losing with a further $1,500 lost this week. Once I get the time I will be interviewing Tom to see what has gone wrong this season. As mentioned earlier, the Golf lost $800.
Soccer had it’s ups and downs also, mostly downs. But take into account that I missed some bets due to lack of sleep. So these figures are only mine. The official results will be different. Football Elite lost $1,650. Football Value lost $500. TFA made $1,600 while Football Investor Combo and Euro lost $3,900. Winabobatoo lost $600. I have also started my own personal bets and these lost $1,240 this week and I also bet on any odds that go out over 20%, this week they made $500.
Very happy with that result, juggling parenthood and betting, and the blog and the service and dealing with hundreds of emails and everything else that comes with life is quite exhausting at times. Since starting the Horse racing and having to be sat in front of a computer at least 3 days a week, I have started to pile on the flab. I’ll be making some adjustments to make sure that doesn’t continue to happen. I’m sure that’s an upcoming post and you will all get to see some photos of me fat.. you guys are so lucky. Until tomorrow..

That’s the killer with RBS – it feels like you are working an actual job at times having to be there 3 days a week. For all the heartache that service causes I started to seriously question it.
Also consider I started at a terrible time, so have never seen the upside. In profit for the first time this month. Hoping it continues to climb.
They do seem to perform well through the Spring Carnival. Outside of that it’s a real grind.
You following the Sportpunter NBA Steve this year?
Yep, but haven’t looked at it yet.
Have a look at nerd fitness you might like it.
You will need high intensity exercise and weights as you don’t have time to be on treadmills. Also consider eating less shit.
I’ve missed 5 golf winners this year including one that I believe was 300 plus on betfair (recorded at 200) and a 40$shot this week. Just the missed golf bets alone would have more than doubled my years profit. Try doing this with 3 kids a full time job and a wife that tries to make it difficult.
Ps I did put one winner on twice this week because I saw him at 100/1 with 5 dimes but the 300$ shot will be something I never forget.
yeah, been reading Nerd fitness for years.
yep, HIIT by far the best, intermittent fasting is great also. I know what I have to do, it’s just a matter of finding the time.
Luckily my GF makes my life much easier.. But yeah, it can be difficult to place all bets, you just have to make it a priority st times.
Yes to all of the above (it’s very rare in agree completely with any comment)
As I said in the other post, I’m not going to be elaborating a whole lot on “what has gone wrong this season,” as PCG is up over 100 units. Again, need to stop overreacting to bad streaks. CALM DOWN, and look at things in the long term rather than focusing on streaks. The real story of this year has been a positive one OVERALL, and that would be my reply to any questions about “what went wrong.” MLB had one of the worst losing streaks I’ve seen as far as Won / Loss is concerned, but we managed money well, and again, up over 100 units in the last year.
Also, I have absolutely no relation at all to “Diamond Edge.” I have no idea who that even is, but for some reason I’m always being discussed with him in the same sentence or paragraph.
Would be nice if you said something about the 7-1 Top Plays in NFL this season instead of just doom and gloom all of the time.
Hey Tom, it seems you have edited your comment, but I will answer it. This is just my experience with your service, as has been mentioned, I am at a disadvantage as bets come out when I am asleep. Odds drop too much on any college bets, so I no longer place them.
Since July I am 10 units down. Nothing huge, but I am in negative.
When you say CALM DOWN, I’m pretty calm, I understand the ups and downs of betting, I have been at this for 4 and a half years and every other blog I have seen pop up over those years are no longer around because they could not handle the short term fluctuations. The issue is I post my weekly results and we all know that weekly results are pretty meaningless, but I post weekly as that’s what people want to see. They come back to the site each week to see how I have gone and while a weeks betting over 4 and a half years is pointless, it is the schedule I have decided to keep.
Another thing you need to understand is that this site is not here for the tipsters, it is here for punters who want to find a tipster to follow. I want to make sure they understand the risks associated with following someone and don’t offer my stamp of approval lightly as I know they could lose money. If I thought your service was terrible I would have quit a long time ago, but I am still not yet convinced I will make a profit (yet). But I know this will only come to light over a years worth of betting (as a minimum).
Thanks
Steve
Fair enough. I just haven’t seen anything positive said (maybe I missed something somewhere) looking over the past couple months. The raw numbers have been insane though since July. 40-17 +14.17% so far this season in NHL. MLB just finished over 70 units. NBA starting off strong. NFL and NCAAF both clicking. Why not talk about any of that?
Also, for your readers (I had a number of emails about this), I just wanted to say something else: just so it is clear, I am not associated with “DiamondEdge” in any way. I’ve noticed that I am usually mentioned with this service in the same sentence or paragraph. I don’t even know who that is. Never heard of them.
If anyone has any questions about my service email me at therber2@gmail.com
Thanks,
Tom
Hey Tom, I just group in tipsters for similar sports. Diamond Edge was an MLB tipster. So all the American sports get linked into one paragraph usually.
I can only go off the suggested bets and not the Raw numbers. I only bet on the official selections you send out. Maybe you should look at doing something similar to Sportpunter and just releasing a spreadsheet with all bets. 14% ROI is amazing.

Steve,
You’re clearly not JUST playing the official selections in the email though. 4-17 in Basketball? Way off. 25-56 in CFL (we’ve only had 60 total selections) how can you have placed 81? 36-21 in NFL that is way off as well (we’ve only had 34 selections so far). Unless I’m reading this wrong, you’re not doing something right. Your records are seriously different than what I have.
Also, I DO give out all of my selections daily in a spreadsheet on the website (raw numbers). :-/
Hey Tom,
Those numbers are bets won and then total bets, not bets won and bets lost. I does say that at the top.
I’ve never looked at the raw number spreadsheets, but will do so this week.
Thanks
Steve
Steve,
Thanks, I see now. I thought it was w/l. Yes, check out the raw numbers. It is what roughly half of my subscribers join for. They’ve been on fire since July which is why I am always a little stunned to see all the doom and gloom here about PCG.
All the best,
Tom
