December – June Fitness Review (+12.4 KG)
The only time I don’t like seeing a + score in the post title.
A quick recap. In August of last year, I decided it was time to try and get in better shape. I weighed 98.6 kilos and felt and looked like crap.
I was also getting married in 6 months and wanted to look half decent for my wedding.
I decided on a ketogenic (keto) diet and because of a back issue could only do minimal exercise, so I choose to do 45 minutes per day on an exercise bike.
From August to December the weight fell off and at one stage I was down 10 kilos. December/January is the festive period and I managed to stay around 89-92 kilos and was about 91 kilos for my wedding.
The wedding was in mid-Feb and after that date, I no longer had a goal for my weight loss. I went off keto and started enjoying all the foods I knew were bad for me.
In the past 4 and a half months I managed to regain the weight I lost and put on an additional 4 kilos. Talk about yo-yo dieting.
After an amazing week of eating in Adelaide, I now sit at 102.5 kilos.
Sadly, my scales died at the start of the year (no it wasn’t because I stood on them) so I can’t show you my weight gain graph.
In betting terms, I bust my bank (and my pants).
A failure occurs when you admit defeat and give up. This is just a learning experience.
I’m back on the Keto bandwagon as of today and in 6 months time, I will be celebrating my 40th year on this planet. Fit by forty is the new mantra.
I felt fantastic when I was on Keto, not only in my body but in my head as well, so am looking forward to that clarity once again. As I’ve mentioned before, keto is not an easy way to live, it requires a high level of commitment.
These fitness posts are more for me then you so I won’t bore you with any more until I reach my 40th Birthday.
