Jan 9th – Jan 15th +$13,057.63

A second great week in 2013 bringing in just over $13,000. A total of $20,000 has been made since Jan 1st. But as you know, I’m never fully pleased and this week the problem was my own doing. A mistake which cost another $3,000 profit. I had manually changed a value in my NBL spreadsheet and the next day when I auto imported the bets, the equation that should have been in there was instead replaced by the same percentage as the night before. This one error meant I bet on the opposite team to beat the line, costing me $3,000. 2 and a half years in and I am still making schoolboy errors.

The Aussie open started yesterday and what a first day for Sportpunter. Winner after winner and last years end of season losses have been wiped out and we are well into profit. It brings back memories of the returns from the US Open two years ago. I hope to outdo those returns and really start the Tennis season of well. $5,000 profit for the week.

As mentioned earlier, the NBA model seems to lose its mojo in the new year and that seems to be the case. I will be giving it till the end of the month to prove that isn’t the case this year, but if it doesn’t at least break even then i will stop following it. A $2,000 loss for the week. NBL as mentioned earlier should have been in profit this week, instead it lost $2,900. I know it isn’t fair for Sportpunter to record these results, but I have made mistakes on all models and it would take forever to add an * to each model and explain where I stuffed up. I’m sure there will be more errors in the years to come, I just hope they are miniscule and actually go my way.

What did I say about Soccer last week? I take it all back. A fantastic week from most models. XX Draws continues its mid season slump, the extended draws haven’t had a win since 2002 (well maybe not that long, but it feels like it). $3,000 wiped of the profits again this week. Skeeve made a small $800 profit, and FB Elite went 2 from 2 for a great return of $4,600. Another few weeks with results like this and I’ll have to send a grovelling email and might be out another hamper. Combo FI has had a worrying run lately, losing another $2,500 this week, but as I never expected much from it, I’m still over the moon with its results thus far. The big contributor this week was The Football Analyst. Established bets made $7,000 while the Euro models added $6,000 more. An amazing week for TFA. Soccer added $12,900 profit for the week.

That’s it for another great week, inching closer and closer to that break even mark for the financial year. But i was in this same position in mid December and we all know how that worked out. I’ll continue plugging away, making sure I don’t make anymore mistakes, and hope the models all revert to their mean in the coming months.
